The MonsterVerse: Godzilla x Kong The New Empire
The MonsterVerse is a cinematic universe home to fictional legendary monsters created by Toho Co. Ltd and produced by Legendary Pictures with Warner Bros. Pictures as Co-producersand distributors. The two protagonists of the MonsterVerse franchise are Godzilla and King Kong who are considered as the Balance – keeping legendary monsters for the planet.
The franchise acquired the characters and reintroduced them in the year 2014 with their first film in the MonsterVerse named Godzilla. This film was widely accepted and recognized for its engaging storyline and a legendary fight among monsters. This film introduced Godzilla follows his fight against the MUTO and establishes himas the savior of the planet and a Natural keeper of Balance in this world.
The second legend introduced by the MonsterVerse was the Gigantic Titan Ape named Kong. In 2017, the movie Kong : Skull Island was released which was again a thrilling cinematic experience. This film discovers the home of Kong and his efforts against the Skull Crawlers and conflict with the humans.
In the year 2019, Godzilla : King of the Monsters was released which was a fight of Godzilla and Mothra against King Ghidora, an alien monster and Rodan. The movie end with Godzilla being victorious as the savior of the planet.
Having introduced the legendary monsters, the MonsterVerse moved forward by providing us a clash of the Kings – Godzilla and Kong, in the film Godzilla Vs Kong released in the year 2021. The success of the film led to the introduction of a new series as a spin off of the Godzilla verse title Monarch : Legacy of Monsters in 2023. This series follows the event of 2014’s Godzilla movie and is well received in the Entertainment world.
In March 2022, Legendary announced the production of a new installment in the MonsterVerse Franchise and a return of Godzilla and Kong against a new adversary and threat to the planet. This movie is now confirmed as titled Godzilla x Kong : The New Empire.
Godzilla x Kong The New Empire Poster and Teaser:
On April 19, 2023 an exclusive look at the title and villain for the upcoming movie was released on the official Youtube channel and Instagram account of Legendary which revealed a new titan as the villain and skulls of Godzilla and Kong. Official posters for Godzilla and Kong with the phrase ‘Unite’ was posted on 30 Nov, 2023 and a poster for the villain Skar King was posted with a phrase ‘Bow to your new King’. On December 4, 2023 the official trailer for the movie was released.

Godzilla x Kong The New Empire Plot:

The Trailer released for the movie reveals a new adversary Skar King who is connected to a mythical history of annihilating the Kong race and the intervention of humanity in helping the king Kong to defeat the Skar King. Humans are seen to attempt a reunion of Kong and Godzilla who now possess a mystical new pink crystallized look.
The trailer ends with a complete look at the Skar King and Godzilla x Kong running towards battle together. The official poster for the movie clarifies the plot through the phrase ‘Rise Together or Fall Alone’ which critically signifies that an all out war against the Skar King will be one only through a combined unity of Godzilla, Kong and even the human race. Official Stills are also released on Instagram with the caption ‘The biggest team up Earth has ever seen, literally.’

Godzilla x Kong The New Empire Release Date:
Godzilla x Kong : The New Empire is scheduled to release in theatres on March 29, 2024 as stated in the bio of the official Instagram account and Twitter account of the movie. The release will be scheduled in theatres worldwide including India. Earlier, the release date was fixed on March 12, 2024 which was then pushed forward to April 12, 2024. Finally, the official announcement stated the release date as March 29, 2024.
Godzilla x Kong The New Empire Budget and Shooting location:
Godzilla x Kong : The New Empire is estimated to be made on a substantial budget of 210 Millions US Dollars and is expected to earn a gross estimate of over 500 Millions US Dollar.

Godzilla x Kong The New Empire Characters and Villain
As stated, the Main Characters of the movie include Godzilla and Kong. The villain in this movie is reported as an Ape of the Hollow world named Skar King. Skar King’s abilities can be seen as having a bone-made whiplash equipment and even atomic breath. Just like Godzilla’s atomic breath ability, Skar King can also be seen in the trailer having glowing eyes which proves his association and relation to the Atomic breath ability. Godzilla can also be seen in the trailer as resting dormant after the events of Godzilla Vs Kong.
When he is woken up by the humans with the hope of helping Kong, we can also see his atomic crystals upgraded to a dark-pink color signifying his new enhancement in power level. Kong can also be seen wearing a mechanical gauntlet in the trailer. Though it is not confirmed but the leaks and rumors suggest that Tiamat and Shimo may appear in the film as part of The New Empire of Skar King.
A Mini-Kong is also seen in the trailer who will play an important role in the movie. Also, human interventions at various intervals of the movie will be witnessed just like the previous movies. An ancient society related to the Godzilla and associated with the secrets of the Hollow World is also revealed.
